Introducing the MSA MC600 Multi-Channel Controller for Gas Detection, a powerful microprocessor-based controller that offers six channels of continuous gas detection. This versatile controller is compatible with a wide range of General Monitors and Gassonic sensors, including hydrocarbon sensors, H2S sensors, intelligent/smart sensors for combustible gases and H2S, as well as various models such as IR400, IR5000, IR7000, TS4000, TS400, TS420, Observer, Surveyor, and Surveyor Extended.

The MC600 features a user-friendly front panel interface with six independent LCD channel displays and a keypad for easy setup, calibration, and gas reading functions. The front panel includes ready, alarm, and fault indicators for quick status monitoring. The dual-RS485 serial communication utilises the Modbus protocol, enabling seamless communication with other devices and systems.

Its modular design, the MC600 offers various configuration options to suit specific requirements. It provides local alarm indication and offers common/discrete relay contacts for flexible integration with external devices. The custom display on the MC600 provides comprehensive channel status information and serves as a user setup interface, ensuring convenient operation and monitoring.

The MC600 includes six user-configurable auxiliary relays that can be activated based on the alarm high, alarm low, or warn set points of any of the six channels. These relays offer multiple configuration options, including common warn or alarm activation set points, discrete channel alarm activation set points, energised/de-energised operation, latching/non-latching functionality, and an adjustable timer from 1 to 120 minutes. These relays can trigger external devices such as horns and beacons.

Additionally, the MC600 features six individual backlit LCD channel displays and warn and alarm LED indicators that are easily readable even in daylight. The controller also provides a common fault relay that activates upon the system or channel malfunction, offering added safety and monitoring capabilities. The fault relay can be configured to activate or deactivate during setup or calibration mode.

With user-selectable zoning and voting features, the MC600 allows up to three zones with single or dual voting options. This provides flexibility in designing the system to meet specific requirements and enhances the overall reliability of the gas detection system.
