MSA Multi-Spectrum IR Flame Detector – FL4000H
Flame DetectionThe Model FL4000H is an advanced multi-spectrum infrared (MSIR) flame detector designed to provide superior false alarm immunity with the widest field of view. The FL4000H employs a multi-spectral optical IR sensing array with a sophisticated Neural Network Technology (NNT) system to reliably discriminate between actual flames and the vast majority of false alarm sources (such as arc welding). The FL4000H is designed to detect typical fires such as alcohol, n-heptane, gasoline, jet fuels and hydrocarbons. In addition, the FL4000H can see through dense smoke produced by diesel, rubber, plastics and lube oil fires.
Description
The MSA Multi-Spectrum IR Flame Detector – FL4000H is an advanced solution designed to provide exceptional false alarm immunity and the most expansive field of view. This state-of-the-art flame detector utilises multi-spectrum infrared (MSIR) sensor array technology in combination with Neural Network Technology (NNT) for superior fire detection capabilities.
The FL4000H is designed to detect fires typical of alcohol, n-heptane, gasoline, jet fuels, and hydrocarbons. It can also see through dense smoke produced by diesel, rubber, plastics, lube oil, and crude oil fires. The NNT flame discrimination algorithm effectively classifies the output signals from the MSIR sensor array as either fire or non-fire, ensuring accurate detection. The MSIR/NNT combination offers high immunity to false alarms caused by lightning, arc welding, hot objects, and other radiation sources.
The FL4000H’s electronics are housed in a durable stainless steel explosion-proof enclosure, ensuring reliable operation in hazardous environments. The detector is available with various output configurations to suit different application requirements. Options include a 4-20 mA stepped output, dual serial communications, HART communication, warning, alarm, and fault relays. This flexibility enables seamless integration and efficient communication with other systems.
Using the Modbus RTU protocol, the serial communication port(s) allow for easy connection of up to 128 units (247 using repeaters) to a host computer. The communication registers provide essential information such as alarm status, fault notifications, and other operational details, facilitating operation, troubleshooting, and unit programming. The Continuous Optical Path Monitoring (COPM) self-test feature regularly checks the optical path integrity and the detector’s electronic circuitry every two minutes, ensuring ongoing reliability and performance.
Invest in the MSA Multi-Spectrum IR Flame Detector – FL4000H and experience superior fire detection capabilities with exceptional false alarm immunity. Trust MSA’s commitment to excellence and safety to protect your personnel and assets.
