Description

The MSA IR Flame Detector – FL3112 is a state-of-the-art Digital Frequency Infrared Flame Detector designed to detect unwanted fires while maintaining exceptional false alarm immunity. This advanced detector ensures reliable flame detection while minimising the risk of false alarms.

By detecting radiation from the infrared spectral region of a flame, the FL3112 provides a virtually immune solution to false alarms caused by lightning, arc welding, hot objects, and other non-flame radiation sources. This ensures that the alarm output is triggered only when an open flame is detected, providing accurate and reliable fire detection.

The detector’s electronics are housed within an explosion-proof housing, enabling the processing of detector information at the point of detection. The electronics are fully separated from the Exe wire compartment, offering enhanced protection during installation and service operations.

The MSA IR Flame Detector – FL3112 is available in multiple output configurations to suit various application requirements. Options include a 4-20mA stepped output with a single serial communications port, dual serial communications ports, warning, alarm, fault relays, alarm and fault relay with on-board EOL (End of Line) and alarm resistor, and a 4-20mA stepped output only. This flexibility allows seamless integration with existing systems and enables efficient communication and control.

The serial communication port(s) enables the connection of up to 128 units (247 using repeaters) to a host computer using the MODBUS RTU protocol. The communication registers provide valuable information such as alarm status, fault notifications, and other operational details, facilitating troubleshooting, programming, and system operation.

The COPM (Continuous Optical Path Monitoring) self-test feature is incorporated, performing regular checks on the optical path integrity and the detector’s electronic circuitry. This self-test occurs once every minute, ensuring ongoing performance monitoring and maintaining reliable operation.

Invest in the MSA IR Flame Detector – FL3112 and experience advanced detection capabilities and outstanding false alarm immunity. Trust MSA’s commitment to excellence and safety to protect your personnel and assets.
